12-7-99 Talk about two completely opposing evenings. This last weekend started off at Planet Hot rod, actually a pretty cool place just north of Tacoma. Really nice people running the place, great decorations, nice stage and sound. We were the first of 4 bands to play. The audience consisted of mostly the other bands. We played well and got the most lukewarm response I think we've ever had from an audience! We definitely were not their kind of music or band. Oh well good practice we always say. The next night we were playing a Benefit show at North Thurston High School for a girl we didn't know. Her name was Adrianne, a 5th grader who had been struck by leukemia for the 3rd time. We knew it was for a good cause but she was faceless to us until Saturday night. Tammy, the coordinator for the event introduced us to Adrianne and Analiese before the show. Two identical twins, very beautiful blue-gray eyed girls. One (Adrianne) slightly smaller than Analiese most likely due to the leukemia. Both very warm and gracious. It was nice to meet them and we went on to play to a very appreciative audience on a very cool stage. After we finished our set Bruce,(LGM bassist) came to get me (Pam) and take me to the girls(Adrianne and Analiese) and their many girlfriends, for they also wanted to meet me. I joined them in the audience and immediately began getting hugs from all of the girls. They were Joyous and loving and excited to hang out with " A Rock Star". We laughed, talked, danced, and listened to the rest of the bands(Just Plain Bill, Loser, Brian Fiest Band, and Marty and the Beagles) . The girls wanted autographs first from me, and the rest of Little Green Men, and then from all of the other bands. By the end of the evening I felt so close to all of those little girls, especially Adrianne and Analiese. I think we all knew we would be friends forever. .It was definitely the most rewarding evening for me, of any shows we have ever performed . I also want to mention that both of the girls have beautiful spirits and personalities that stole my heart. At one point I said I'd like to adopt them and Adrianne boldly said I could rent them! I laughed so hard, she seemed a bit embarrassed and said that's what her mother tells people. I fell in love with those twins Saturday night. They reminded me in the midst of my busy schedule what is truly important in life. Adrianne is tentatively having another surgery in January and her twin sister Analiese will be the donor. She has received donations from many gracious people but is still short of money that will fund her surgery and expenses. Please email us greenmen@greenmen.net and we will provide you with more information on how to donate to Adrianne. A special thanks to Angela (our sales and PR manager) and all of the bands for donating their time.

12-1-99 Opening for Leon Russell at the Ballard Firehouse. What an experience! Our first time playing to a packed house! What a blast! And Leon was awesome! None of us had ever seen him live before. He was super cool with his totally white long hair and beard. Even using a cane to walk didn't get in his way of having a totally tight, power packed show! Pam especially was amazed at how many songs he had written that she had really loved and not realized who the author was. Leon performed one hit after another with his son on Drums and one of his daughters playing percussion. . Bruce bought a super cool Leon hat!

11-15-99 Had a great mini tour to Bellingham(The Up and Up) and Hoquiam (Thumpers) this last weekend! Bellingham was very interesting and Hoquiam was a blast! We loved the band "Plastic Smile" Really cool songs, original kinda of an 80's sounding rock., plus they were super nice! We hope to do some more shows with them. Of coarse Pat always has something happen to him. This time he had to take a few muscle relaxers to get to sleep(on the road). He said they worked extremely well and when he woke in the morning and tried to stand up he almost fell over. Easy big fella! Angela worked her charms in the sales department as usual. Bruce actually cracked the Thumper's crowd up pretty well, he even got them to clap during Wounded! Mark was entertaining , especially to the band in his quiet kind of way (he tends to laugh at anything one says, and usually falls on the floor if it's especially funny!) Pam forced the band to take lots of pee breaks on the road due to her extra special coffee consumption! All in all we had soooo much fun!

10-26-99 Ended up playing 2 sets at at Northwest Passage because Sweet Tea had to cancel. Mark did a great job on sound and lights as usual and we had a good time! If you haven't been to this tavern it's truly one of the best smaller places to hear up and coming bands in the Northwest. Mt Shots was great as always.

10-20-99 We had a blast last weekend. Started out with a great show at The Central opening for Fedora. Pat almost had to cut someone because he couldn't use his own drum set but he did a kick ass job anyway! Buddha nearly killed Bruce for making her guard the van while he loaded it.. After the show we all drove up to Bruce's mom's in Camano Island to crash before playing Jimmy Z's the next night. Emily(Bruce's mom) is SO COOL! She was waiting for us and when we got there at one am, she had all this fancy fruit, cheese and crackers waiting for us! Bruce especially liked the Blue Cheese! The boys went out on the porch, heaven knows what for, and came back in very hungry. Pam was already munching down on the goods! We sat around and did some post gig bonding. Out of the blue Pat told us that he had been getting a low level shock the whole time he played drums at the Central! He said he just now remembered it. Said he had a hard time holding onto his sticks but he just kept playing! What a drummer! The next day we spent walking on the beach in the sun, visiting, laughing, and eating like Kings and Queens again! Drove down to Everett for Jimmy Z's which was pretty uneventful. We did great and impressed the sound guy, door guy, and the small handful of people in the audience. Mark was all decked out in Buddha wear and Buddha hair! You had to be there. Next show look for Pat and Bruce to be wearing some special attire! See ya soon! IMPORTANT MAILING LIST ------ To all of you who are on our email mailing list please resubmit your email addresses and names to us as soon as possible. Pam's computer seems to have lost them somewhere. Just email us at greenmen@greenmen.net with your name and email address and we will get you back on the list promptly so we can notify you of upcoming LGM shows. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks!

9-22-99 We have played several shows with Mark (our new lead guitarist) and he is great! Mt Shots was our first show with Mark and he was quite the sport playing 2 hours worth of material that he had less than a week to learn! We have been practicing quite a bit since he joined and are actually having FUN at rehearsals again. Imagine that.! At our last rehearsal we set up mics for all 3 of the guys and they started singing harmonies. Pam played vocal instructor and at one point we all got to laughing so hard we had to stop and take a break.. The Rupert's show was a good practice for us. First of all we were suppose to play downstairs in The Cellar opening for another Seattle band. We unloaded all of our gear down some really steep narrow stairs, set up on stage, and did a sound check. By the way The Cellar is a very cool place, trippy decor, good vibes and sound. Then we learned that the band we were suppose to open for wasn't showing up because their bass player got arrested. So much for counting on their draw for an audience. Oh well at least we could relax and take our time or so we thought. Cool, Pam changed into a skirt and heels now that the sweaty work was done. Next the DJ who was suppose to be upstairs on the main stage didn't show. We were asked if we would mind playing upstairs. Of coarse we complied, tore down all of our gear, moved it upstairs (with the help of Debbie Rock and Julian the sound guy) who were both great by the way. After a few trips(literally) up and down the stairs Pam decided to take the heels off and put the big old white tennis shoes back on. Bruce said she looked like a nurse! Anyway, finally we got set up again and played to a spattering of seemingly disinterested people and one very drunk guy who was dissing the Ok Hotel for 86ing him. Needless to say it wasn't one of our better shows. Oh well. We felt redeemed the next night at Tugboat Annie's. Like Mt. Shots, we've never had a bad gig there. A Thousand Young opened for us and the crowd loved them! Little Green Men played next and had a really good time! The place wasn't packed but the people who were there were obviously enjoying the show! Very Fun Time! Angela Arnold, has also become an important member of our crew. First of all she's just a very cool person. On top of that she has been a great help to the band! She has a knack with sales and has agreed to take on the added job of doing show flyers! A huge thank you to Angela!

9-5-99 Meet Mark Mauer. This time a thank you to Pat, (our drummer) for bringing him along. Mark will be playing lead guitar for LGM starting this Thursday. We invited him over to jam with us last Thursday and decided to ask him to join the band. He has exactly one week to learn the material. We don't ask for much! Welcome aboard Mark!

8-27-99 Pam finally figured out how to get steaming audio (when you click on the file it plays without having to download) onto the site. Yeehaa! There are 3 songs so far and for those of you who have the technology you can download mp3 versions of Wounded, Blood of the Young and Carry the Cage for FREE! Check it out. Pam, Bruce and Pat have been getting some new songs put together but are really getting tired of playing to the four walls. Can't wait to see you all again!

8-13-99 Yesterday Pat and Pam trekked up to Seattle to do some more promoting of the CD. On the drive up Pat was putting the promotion packs together and he accidentally put a Lenny Kravitz CD in the LGM package. Luckily he had to reopen it to put some business cards in and he caught the mistake. They had a good laugh over that one! After barely getting through the traffic a super nice parking lot attendant agreed to park Pam's car for her in an already full lot so she and Pat could make the appointment with Dean Carlson of THE MOUNTAIN on time. Pat said that Dean had a terrified look on his face when he opened his office door and saw Pat standing there. For those of you who haven't met Pat, he's a pretty big and tall guy. I think Dean thought he was Pam's bodyguard instead of the drummer. Anyway the appointment went well. Of coarse Dean gets hundreds of CD's and getting air play is extremely competitive but hopefully we will get a spot on the local show soon. Of coarse any calls on the request line from LGM fans wouldn't hurt. Next they met with Kim Monroe of THE END. Apparently she hadn't received the CD in the mail and she had no clue who Pam or Little Green Men were. She had an awesome outfit on that Pam was coveting and Pat was admiring! She was polite but basically told us that she had nothing to do with the local show and would pass the CD on to the appropriate person. Oh well, at least she's seen and heard a couple of faces in Little Green Men.

8-6-99 Pat is now a permanent fixture in Little Green Men. Chucky has taken off for South Carolina for a month to visit his best bud John. In the meantime we are writing, and taking our CD up to Seattle's radio stations. KISW now has a copy and is planning on playing it on their Sunday night local show thanks to Cathy Faulkner. Next week we talk with Dean Carlson of The Mountain and Kim Monroe of The End. We'll see you in Sept.

6-25-99 Pat Mehan auditioned for the band today. He's only been playing drums for 3 years but he's good and we like him! He has a great van and really beautiful dark green drums. Bonus! We're going to give it a go. Thanks to Paul Mauer of "Jossett'es Eye" for introducing us! Devin played his last gig with us at Hannah's on Saturday. We all had a great time and wish him the best with his future endeavors. Steve Munger ( sax player extraordinaire) joined us on a couple of tunes at Hannah's and we had an absolute blast playing with him! The audience obviously loved him. Steve, Pam and Bruce were all in "Dugan Falls"(Pam's first band), together about 5 years ago. Steve has agreed to play some more tunes with us in the future. We're looking forward to it!

6-12-99 THE CD IS HERE! Blood of the Young, our long awaited 2nd CD has arrived. We're very happy with it! It was recorded by Bruce(our multi talented bass player) at Arcade . He did a great job of producing it and put some really cool effects on it. We're anxious to begin recording again. Since Chuck has joined the band we have written several new tunes inspired by his guitar riffs and are also utilizing the keyboards in some of them. And having Devin back is making the creative juices flow even more. It was good to be back at Mountain shots last week. As always, a super cool crowd of all ages! Chris has a good thing going on there in Tumwater! Played our first weekend show at the Ballard Firehouse last night. Had a great time! We opened for a band called B.N Maya. Female lead vocals, keys, drums and a cellist. Very unique cool sound. They also incorporate a yoga dancer in their show, she was awesome to watch!

5-11-99 Scott Peoples is no longer with the band . Devin Giles (who played with Little Green Men in the past and on both CD's) has agreed to play during the month of June and will possibly rejoin the band. It has been heaven rehearsing with him again and we hope to get him back permanently! The CD and artwork have been sent off to duplication and should be in our hands in 2-3 weeks! The cover photo's for the band were taken by a local gem, Carl Cook and turned out really cool! The name of the CD is "Blood Of The Young", which is also the title to the 2nd song on the CD.

3-18-99 Thanks to Daniel Kolp we are back in business with a great set of Remo drums! Daniel answered our call for help when Scott's drums were stolen and has been more than kind by lending Scott his set until he can afford to buy his own. We will be forever indebted to Daniel! We will also hire him to do the driving on tour when we are more financially endowed ! The CD has been mixed and is being mastered by Mark Greer as we speak. It sounds fantastic! Bruce put some pretty cool effects on my voice which I'm really liking! We have decided on a name for the CD and are bouncing around ideas for cover art. Carl Cook will take another band photo next week, hopefully this one will stay current for a while! As soon as the band photo, cover art and graphics are finished we will send it off for duplication. Then it's just a matter of 3 or 4 weeks and we should have actual product in our hands for you. Thanks for being so patient!

2-28-99 Bruce is in the process of mixing our CD. Three down, four to go! We actually spent some more time recording with Chucky laying down some heavier guitar tracks on each of the songs. They sound awesome, can't wait to get it in our hands! Played our first gig together as a band since Scott joined up. O'Blarney's was pretty fun! Gray Daisy opened for us and were rockin' as usual. Brian Thomas (professional DJ) ran some awesome lights for the show! Scott learned all the material in one week and just a few rehearsals. He did a great job! We have found the missing link in our band, Scott Peoples, our new drummer. We met him on the internet about a month ago, talked back and forth, and exchanged tapes. We both really had good feelings about each other and what we were hearing on tapes and just general vibes. About a week ago we decided it was time to give it a try. Scott flew out from North Carolina expecting to find his drums here (he had shipped them previously). When they didn't arrive after a few days he discovered they had been stolen. We finally rented a set and played together for the first time. It was a perfect match! We love the way Scott plays and we really like him! It's a good thing because we all live in the same house now. A band house!

2-6-99 Pam finished recording her vocals yesterday on our 2nd CD. Next week is mix down. Then off to mastering and duplication. Trying to think of a name for this CD. Freak Fork Accident is pretty catchy don't ya think? Chucky's ramblings on a drunken evening. Email us your ideas, if we choose yours we'll give you a CD and a T shirt! Bonus! Our first gig at Hannah's was a blast! Getting ready to rock Burrito Heaven Tequila Bar tonight.
